A Whole Lotta Improv Workshops!

I’ll be heading back to Copenhagen and the great artists at ICC Theater. This is a deep dive, folks, and I’d love for you to join me in this exploration.

BUILDING BLOCKS FOR GROUNDED SCENES
Dates:
 April 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th.
Time: 10:00– 16:00 (Lunch 13:00-14:00)
There’s a workshop performance as well. April 10th, 5:30-6pm

A great scene starts with a strong foundation. Period.

If you want a powerful start to your scene, establish strong points of view and emotionally connect to your partner. This 4-day workshop using Razowsky’s methodology will help you:

  • Build your scenes with a clear mind, open to all possibilities.

  • Recognize the power of your emotions and use them to guide you to your point of view.

  • Discover your partner’s wants and intentions in the first line of the scene.

  • Develop observational skills to follow exciting paths you might not be seeing.

  • Connect with your mind and body to create scenes that surprise and thrill you.

This workshop will change the way you look at improvisation and the world around you.

THE BEAT GOES ON
Date:
 April 10th
Time: 10:00– 16:00 (Lunch 13:00-14:00)

Discover how two or three actors can play out a 40-minute set in one continuous location, aka a “monoscene.” Master how:

  • Awareness and “present-ness” keeps a scene going while you were thinking it was “ending.”

  • Confidence and focus lead you to choices you’ve never made.

  • You have everything you need to create a scene that looks like a one-act play.

A scene only ends when you think it does. Stop thinking. Start feeling. Keep going.

VIEWPOINTS
Dates:
April 11th, 12th
Time: 10:00– 16:00 (Lunch 13:00-14:00)

When I was exposed to the power of Anne Bogart and Tina Landau’s nine “Viewpoints” my improv took a profound turn. My work was suddenly led by my heart and not my ego and brain. No longer did I feel the need to “figure out” a scene’s direction. I learned the power of compulsion is the main source of inspiration.

This two-day master class will:

  • Focus on responding to the moment and not which choice is “right” or “wrong.”

  • Immediately emotionally connect you to your partner.

  • Guide you to where the scene needs to go.

  • Gives you the confidence to take artistic chances.

Prepare to see your craft in a new light, prepare to see with new eyes, and prepare to be rejuvenated!
