Back to DC Improv!
It’s always a blast to work at DC Improv. The students are awesome, and this time around I’m there for almost a week. Three “ala carte” workshops, plus a Friday through Sunday improv intensive with a performance! Register here:
Sharpen Your Point of View: "Most scenes go off track because we're not aware of our character's or our partner's character's point of view. The very first exchanges of your scene tell you all you need to know about who you are and where to go, every single time. This workshop, hailed as 'Vital ... an eye-opener ...' exposes you to what you're feeling, what your focus is, and what you get to give attention to. This workshop will change the way you look at scenes!
Tuesday, May 26, 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
16 students maximum
Tuition: $90
Prerequisite: Beginning Improv or equivalent
All classes are 18 and over. Once payment is made, there are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations.
Hear the Now: The Opening Line Isn't Spoken. "Learn to hear what your partner is offering you before they even open their mouths. The answers are all in the tempo of their movements and their spatial relationship to you. It's all about trusting yourself, having confidence in your awareness, and the excitement knowing what you don't realize is what improv is all about."
Wednesday, May 27, 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
16 students maximum
Tuition: $90
Prerequisite: Beginning Improv or equivalent
All classes are 18 and over. Once payment is made, there are no refunds, exchanges or cancellations.
Strong Entrances, Strong Choices. "Be aware of all that's happening at the top of your scene and you'll be aware of the power you have in your character. It starts as all things do: at the beginning!"

Deep Dive: This weekend masterclass will focus on using the skill sets of David Razowsky's methodology -- point of view, emotional commitment, scene heightening, making the "un-obvious choice" -- to build and sustain longer scenes, deeper characters, and surprising turns. In other words, creating unique scenes never seen or performed before. Use these learned tools to stretch you in directions you'd never think to go.
The session will end in a culmination performance with Razowsky on Sunday night. This intensive is open to advanced improv students and anyone who has been in a prior Razowsky workshop.
